About Us
Kurumoch International Airport is the largest and busiest airport of the Volga region and ranks among Russia’s top ten airports. It has an extensive route network to practically all the regions of the Russian Federation as well as neighbouring and distant countries.
Kurumoch International Airport is a multi-business company that involves about 50 different services. All of their efforts are aimed at providing a full range of passenger, cargo, mail, aircraft handling and maintenance services that are the primary function of the Airport.
Kurumoch International Airport takes pride in providing aviation and general services for airlines and other customers while striving to maintain flight safety and flight regularity.
The Airport’s terminal complex consists of three buildings (an international arrival terminal, a passenger terminal, and a domestic arrival terminal). Capacity is currently 750 passengers per hour, comprising 600 passengers per hour on domestic flights and 150 passengers per hour on international flights. The Business Terminal was opened in 2003 and has the capacity to handle 50 passengers per hour, while fully complying with all expected world standards.
Both international and domestic cargo and mail is handled at the dedicated air cargo terminal, which is equipped with all necessary mechanical aids.
In 2008, the Airport handled 1,457,346 passengers, a 4.6 % increase over 2007 and this was the fifth consecutive year that the Airport has handled more than 1 million passengers. Our latest figures confirm this increasing trend, and we expect 2009 to produce a new record number of air travellers using the Airport.
The Airport operates 24 hours a day and has two runways of 3,001 m and 2,548 m in length arranged perpendicularly to each other. Each runway approach is equipped with modern Category I instrument landing systems (ILS). There are also 50 aircraft stands, a system of terminals covering an area of 11,340 m2, and an air cargo complex with the capacity to handle up to 200 tonnes a day.

Full Standard Preflight Briefing
In 2005 the Airport added a Full Standard Briefing in accordance with ICAO’s flight control standards. Pilots can now obtain all necessary preflight information such as adverse conditions, synopsis, current weather conditions, en route forecast, destination forecast, and any other meteorological and aeronautical data they request. The resulting air navigation decisions can now be performed at a much more informed and therefore safer level.
