The last year filled uptheaviation business market oftheSamara Region with anumber ofnewairlines. TheGreek carrier Astra Airlines officially integrated itsflights toThessaloniki; Ak Bars Aero connected Samara with Kazan andSochi onaregular basis; NordStar Airlines launched regular flights toNorilsk andRostov. Theweekly frequency offlights between Samara andEkaterinburg increased from 7to10because ofRusLain airline which nowjoined Ural Airlines andUTair already serving this regular destination. Moreover twobiggest Russian airlines Aeroflot andS7 Airlines offered more flights onthepopular Samara-Moscow route. Sothetotal number offlights totheRussian capital isnowamounts to12departures perday. In2012 Kurumoch Airport also enriched thechoice ofleisure destinations forSamara tourists byadding such newcities asAqaba (Jordan), Sharjah (UAE) andBurgas (Bulgaria).
Other figures oftheAirport business activity during theyear 2012 have also increased recently. Kurumoch Airport saw21096aircraft movements, recording a5%growth when compared with theyear 2011. TheMTOW wasup3percentage points over theyear-ago period andamounted to1362188 tones. Aircargo andmail demand wassignificantly stronger by11%(4746 tones) compared totheprevious year.
Such airlines as"UTair", "Aeroflot -Russian Airlines", Orenair, Ural Airlines andS7Airlines" showed themost considerable increase in2012.
