When buying an air ticket, you must possess your identification document. If you are travelling with a child, you must show his/her birth certificate as well.

The air ticket is valid only for the flight and date specified therein, and only for the person on whose name the ticket is issued.

E-tickets

An e-ticket (electronic ticket) is a paperless electronic document containing passenger information, route, airfare, payment mode, etc.

You can buy an e-ticket via the website of the chosen airline. Your e-ticket will be created for you immediately after the completion of booking and payment. As confirmation, an itinerary / receipt will then be e-mailed to the address provided by you. The itinerary / receipt can also be given to you by airline’s representatives at the airport.

Checking-in at the airport always requires a passport for adults and a birth certificate for children without a passport. The itinerary / receipt is convenient as it contains all the information about your flight, so it is recommended that you print it out and have it with you at the airport. If you are flying abroad, your may need your itinerary / receipt when going through passport control as evidence that you have a return ticket or an onward ticket to another country. In addition, at some airports you may need to show your itinerary / receipt to their aviation security services.
